- Bar Next Door: http://grantorino-hanzo-alabamasocial.dk/en/bar-next-door/
“A bar where you feel welcome, relaxed and comfortable” – this is the vision for Bar Next Door’s new cocktail bar right by The Lakes in the trendy area of Nørrebro in Copenhagen. This place seats 45 people and just as many standing, the interior décor has a natural wooden feel with glowing lamps and raw concrete to reflect the otherwise relaxed atmosphere. The menu boasts old classics such as Martini’s, Negroni’s and Old Fashioned, while the there is also room for experimentation with modern constellations and new recipes. Don’t miss out!
2. Lidkoeb: http://lidkoeb.dk/
The name: “Lidkoeb” : refers to the celebration of an oral agreement carried out by a trade agreement (often cattle trade) between a buyer and seller. For further confirmation of the trade, a celebratory “Lidkoeb” is made to wish each other luck in the future. When you enter Lidkoeb, you are instantly welcomed with a long wooden bar on the ground floor with comfortable leather chairs and chesterfield décor seatings. This smell of leather combined with good old fashioneds and a buzzy atmosphere makes Lidkoeb one of Vesterbro’s hottest cocktail bars.
3. Ruby: https://rby.dk/
Ruby is the name of a unique cocktail bar decorated as an old apartment. It is located inside an old townhouse from 1740 in the oldest part of town, facing the Parliament buildings and Thorvaldsens museum. Ruby first opened its doors in June 2007 and has since then become one of the most talked-about places of town, purely from word-of-mouth advertising. In October 2015, Ruby was ranked 34 on the list of The World’s 50 Best Bars and we think it is partly because of its posh location and exclusive décor mixed with a relaxed and casual atmosphere – completely unpretentious – and we love it! Try Ruby for some of the best cocktails in Copenhagen.
4. Holmens Kanal: http://holmenskanal.com/
Set in a historic warehouse building from 1863, Holmens Kanal’s idea of taking guests back to the Great Gatsby era by introducing exquisite cocktails where the décor speaks for itself and where a visit to the Ladies and Men’s room is like taking a step back in time. At Holmens Kanal, you will find everything that caters to the discerning gentleman – and lady – with private booths, high tables and bar stools, housing an impressive 150 guests and conveniently located just off Kongens Nytorv in central Copenhagen.
5. Salon 39: http://www.salon39.dk/
While Salon 39 is not exactly located in the center of Copenhagen, but in the posh neighborhood of Frederiksberg – what it lacks in location, it definitely makes up for in style and taste! This salon number 39 mixes classic cocktails with a tempting dinner menu (we were told that the burgers might just be some of the best in town), all in a perfect intimate setting. Think sleek, cool and old-time jazzy. We recommend trying the Four Grain Whiskey Sour with whiskey and egg whites – and you are in whiskey heaven!
