Who is Mads Nørgaard? You can ask any Dane on the street or someone you already know, they will both know the name, perhaps not the person himself, but the brand – Yes. The classical striped shirts that you will see everywhere in Copenhagen and Denmark, is the signature look of Mads Nørgaard – popular Danish designer based in Copenhagen. The philosophy behind his clothing line is to “make women sexier and men rougher – with a modernist gleam in the eye”. You will find both basic t-shirts, edgy denim and cool dresses with an edgy yet feminine touch. Founded in 1986, Mads Nørgaard, opened his first shop in Strøget in Copenhagen – and the shop is still here, one for men and one for women. The stores also sells brands such as Vilsbøl de Arche, Ann Demeulemeester, Paul Smith and Stine Goya and the Mads Nørgaard label is sold exclusively  in Europe and in Japan.

Launched in 2002 by three former students of The Danish Royal Design School, this is how the urban streetwear brand came to life. Today not only street, but also high class avant-garde, a blend of themed graphics and classic styles, redesigned with an unique outlook, WOOD WOOD has manifested themselves as a major force of Danish Fashion Design. The shop is located in Grønnegade, downtown Copenhagen and is frequented by locals and tourists alike, don’t miss a visit to this iconic Danish Fashion bad-boy.

Bruuns Bazaar is the name of a Danish fashion house, designing understated yet distinct clothes and accessories for both men and women. Launched 1999, this was one of the first Danish brands to enter the Paris Fashion Week. Expect a  unique blend of classical styles with a sophisticated edge. Today, Bruuns Bazaar is well-known in most of Europe. Bruuns Bazaar has a section for men and one for women in Kronprinsensgade as well as in the department stores Illum and Magasin. You will also find a showroom in Silkegade.

BY MALENE BIRGER is a Danish womens wear design brand represented by graphics, contrasts and strong silhouettes. The style is contemporary and modern. The mission is to give women everything they need to dress up – or down for any occasion, day and night. BY MALENE BIRGER introduces a prêt-a-porter collection four times a year, along with an extensive collection of accessories reflecting the look and style of the individual designs. Found in Antonigade, Copenhagen Airport and in the department stores Illum and Magasin. The Shop in Antonigade is open every first and last Sunday of the month.

Baum und Pferdgarten, established in Copenhagen in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, who created the brand name as a humorous interplay between their surnames, and it reflects the dualistic playfulness, which is also echoed in their design. Ever since the beginning, the two Creative Directors have been constantly complementing and challenging each-other in creating collections filled with clashing contrasts, strong colours and memorable prints as the fundamental design DNA.
